Many people are attracted to real estate as a career choice for both the earnings potential and the freedom to work according to their own schedules. What many don’t expect when entering the field are the complex industry laws that must be fully understood and adhered to. With the launch of the summer 2023 real estate pre-licensing courses at Inland Real Estate School, aspiring brokers and brokerage owners can access the 75 hours of training in this area that they’ll need to pass the required licensing exams.

Real estate broker licensing laws are different in every state. In Illinois, aspiring brokers must be age 18 or older, have their high school diploma, and have either a Social Security number or individual taxpayer identification number.

The path toward becoming a licensed broker is a four-step process that begins with a 75-hour pre-licensing course that prepares aspiring brokers for their Illinois real estate exam. The broker pre-license exam takes approximately three-and-a-half hours to complete, and participants must achieve a minimum 75% grade to pass.

Students that pass their pre-licensing exam must then work under a managing broker for two to four weeks before being eligible for their broker license exam.

Inland Real Estate School offers 24/7 online course access, exam practice questions available online, automated school and study reminders, progressive tracking notifications, and live instructor assistance to prepare students to pass their pre-licensing test on their first attempt.

David McGowan, president and CEO of Inland Real Estate School says, “We provide instructor presentations to recap the reading assignments and emphasize the material that is most often tested on the exam. We want to make sure our students understand the important concepts in each unit because when they succeed, we succeed.”

After a lengthy hiatus due to COVID-19 restrictions, the real estate pre-licensing courses at Inland Real Estate School have resumed. Those looking to start their brokerage careers can now apply for the June/July 2023 live online, home study, and in-person course intake.
