Ottawa Physical Rehab Clinic Announces the Appointment of a new Physiotherapist to Address Injuries, Pain, and Discomfort

Ottawa, ON – Ottawa Physical Rehab Clinic, a locally-owned multidisciplinary clinic, provides personalized wellness through physiotherapy, chiropractic care, massage therapy, acupuncture, custom orthotics, diet/nutrition, and osteopathy. The team of clinicians and healthcare practitioners ensures equal opportunity access to quality care throughout the community, empowering families to live uninhibited. They treat sports, workplace, and chronic injuries while offering preventative care and ergonomic evaluations.

The clinic has appointed a second physiotherapist to continue helping clients with their goals. Yoon Mi will be working part-time, with availability on Tuesdays and Thursdays. As a black stripe belt (1st Gup) Taekwondo champion who enjoys salsa dancing, swimming, yoga, hiking, and weight training, Yoon understands the importance of mobility and a high quality of life. She graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2015 before obtaining a degree in Physiotherapy from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) in 2019. While she has a keen interest in musculoskeletal and sports rehab, her post-graduate training comprised dry needling, acupuncture, concussion rehab works, and MDT (McKenzie-lumbar and cervical spine).

At Ottawa Physical Rehab Clinic, Yoon Mi will help restore, maintain, and make the most of a patient’s mobility, well-being, and function, especially during injury prevention, physical rehabilitation, or health/fitness. Her hands-on clinical skills and in-depth knowledge of how the body works allow her to examine, assess, diagnose, and treat illness, disability, and injury symptoms. Yoon will work with other health professionals at the clinic to address wrist/elbow pain, chronic conditions, postural dysfunction, repetitive strain injuries, shoulder stiffness/pain, and acute/chronic musculoskeletal injuries. Patients with neck pain, soft tissue injuries, foot/ankle pain, or hip/knee pain due to physical trauma, lifestyle choices, or repetitive movements can also find relief at the clinic.

A client’s first appointment with Yoon Mi begins with an initial assessment where she will ask detailed questions about pain/injury and understand overall treatment goals. Once completed, she performs several physical tests to determine a client’s range of motion, reflexes, strength, ligament/joint mobility, sensation, nerves, palpations, and inflammation. The tests help her determine the most appropriate treatment plan. Ottawa Physical Rehab Clinic considers education as one of the aspects of therapy, and Yoon will provide information about a condition or its management for clients to take a direct and positive role in their recovery. The clinic helps clients regain an active lifestyle, expand physical function, and meet their fitness goals.

The Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) covers physiotherapy in certain circumstances for patients 18 years of age and younger or 65 years and older. Patients must have a valid Ontario Health Card or a referral by a physician to qualify for OHIP. Yoon Mi provides one-on-one physiotherapy Ottawa for balance, flexibility, posture, and strength. Book a session by calling (613) 627-8808 or visiting the clinic’s website. Ottawa Physical Rehab Clinic is at 2730 Iris St Unit 1, Ottawa, ON, K2C 1E6, CA.
