About Satish Vayuvegula, MD, MS
For over 18 years, Dr. Satish Vayuvegula has specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of varicose vein disease and related disorders. He has mastered minimally invasive treatment techniques, such as ultra-sound guided foam sclerotherapy and thermal ablation, that relieve pain and restore quality of life for his patients. Dr. Vayuvegula’s primary focus is on helping patients achieve the best outcomes with personalized treatment plans. He provides patients with a calm atmosphere that encourages conversation and instills trust. “Family and faith are my foundation. I carry this over to my patients as I try to treat every patient as if they were my family.”
“Growing up I saw the impact that [physicians] made on people’s lives. From an early age knew that I wanted to be a doctor.” Dr. Vayuvegula earned his medical degree from The Chicago Medical School in 1999. He then completed his residency at Emory University School of Medicine and Affiliated Hospitals of Atlanta, Georgia. Soon after residency, Dr. Vayuvegula was invited to train in venous techniques. Since then, Dr. Vayuvegula has performed over 30,000 thermal ablations, 500 VenaSeal procedures and 100,000+ ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy sessions. More than 18 years later, he remains passionate about treating venous disease and educating patients. “There is still a lot of education that needs to happen to not only for the public but to healthcare workers about the impact of chronic venous insufficiency and the benefits of treatment.”
Not only is Dr. Vayuvegula a highly skilled and experienced varicose vein expert, but he is also a patient. He suffered from varicose veins throughout medical school. Soon after beginning his training in venous disease, he underwent thermal ablation. He immediately experienced a dramatic improvement in his quality of life. He relates to patients suffering from venous disease, as well as the relief and joy of successful treatment.
When not helping patients, Dr. Vayuvegula loves spending time with his family, whether traveling or at home. In addition, he enjoys skiing, golf, tennis, and pickleball. Dr. Vayuvegula looks forward to meeting new and returning patients at Precision Vascular in Plano, Texas.
