The executive wellness exam includes a suite of diagnostics to assess patient’s eye health, screening for a variety of conditions that may not be visible with an initial routine eye exam.

The additional diagnostics include Panoramic Retinal Imaging, Corneal Galilei Topography and Tomography, Optical Coherence Tomography and Angiography, and Meibography.

The Panoramic Retinal Imaging allows doctors to photograph the retina, so they can early detect, analyze, and monitor conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and neurologic or autoimmune conditions such as lupus or multiple sclerosis, which can affect nerve and vascular tissue.

The Corneal Galilei Topography and Tomography uses two cameras to assess the cornea’s surface shape, curvature, and thickness.

“These are important for the early diagnosis of conditions such as keratoconus and map-dot-fingerprint dystrophy, as well as for assessing astigmatism and whether patients could be a good candidate for LASIK,” said one company spokesperson.

The Optical Coherence Tomography and Angiography exam involves scanning the retina and its vessels, nerve layer thickness, and optic nerve. That allows staff to determine if clients may have glaucoma, macular degeneration, or blood vessel deficits due to diabetes or mini-strokes. Analyzing retinal neural and vascular tissue also aids with the early detection of Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s diseases.
