WorldPix Announces Third Annual “Arizona For Africa,” Gallery and Cocktail Party

WorldPix is proud to announce the opening of its “Arizona For Africa” gallery February 25, 2023 from 6-9 PM. Taking place in northern Scottsdale at Desert Foothills Lutheran Church, this event unites talented photographers from around the world with charitable causes in the communities where their photos were taken. Through WorldPix, art and service meet to change lives.

Focused on some of the most vulnerable and at-risk populations, WorldPix partners with charities across the world. In South Africa, WorldPix is especially proud to support Khaya Centre. Meaning “home” in the Nguni group of languages, Khaya is dedicated to helping over 700 orphans and vulnerable children in South Africa.

This country-still reeling from the effects of apartheid-was also one of the hardest hit by the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Today, the World Bank notes that South Africa is still one of the most unequal countries in the world.

Khaya Centre provides support for South African children who are most at risk. Beyond basic food and shelter, this life-changing charity also provides access to education, home-based and palliative care, early childhood development, and poverty alleviation programs.

Closer to home, WorldPix also donates proceeds from photographs taken in Arizona. Their partner charities in the state include Sunshine Acres, the Arizona Medical Clinic, and the Chandler I AM Project. All of these charities serve a variety of at-risk populations, but their boundless compassion is the same.

At Sunshine Acres, children who were separated from their parents receive loving, wholesome care. With a mix of enrichment, therapy, and education programs, they help Arizona children thrive.

The Arizona Medical Clinic provides vital preventative and on-going care to Cambodia and Mynamar refugees in the Phoenix Valley. Dr. Linda Som, who along with Dr. B. Andy Le, runs the clinic was once a refugee herself and understands the healthcare challenges refugees face.

The Chandler I AM Project is a local charity that serves at the front-lines of the opioid crisis, which contributed to over 1,689 Arizona deaths in the last year. The Chandler I AM Project provides hope, treatments, resources, and support to those who have been affected by opioid addiction.

Through community involvement, WorldPix aims to support life-changing charities across the world. The “Arizona For Africa” gallery and cocktail party will cost $100 per person, with the donation directly benefiting WorldPix partner charities. During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to purchase beautiful photos from around the world with all proceeds going back to help great causes near where the photo was taken. WorldPix is also inviting corporate sponsors to help, with multiple sponsorship levels available. As a 501(c)3 charity, all donations are tax deductible.
