Patricia Allen’s New Book ‘THE DEUCE’ Is Ready to Hit the Shelves This December

Newark, NJ— With his latest book, “The Deuce,” author Patricia Allen takes readers on a trip down memory lane, a look at a time in history filled with love, joy, and tears.

In this book, the author Patricia Allen has paid tribute to the largest city in the U.S. state of Nebraska, OMAHA. This book aims to give the young people growing up in a community a glimpse of its past. According to the author, “It was the best of times, and it was the worst of times.”

The rationale behind the book’s name is that back in the days of old, the Deuce was claimed and named by people of colour, and musicians from across the nation came to play. The book’s narrative is set in the 60s and 70, most notably considered a time of struggle, protest, and search for equality. However, the author also said, “it was a community and business district that was self-sufficient, that took care of itself, and neighbourhoods filled with love and pride.”

This book powerfully shows a variety of feelings people undergo facing social injustice but also highlights how a community that works together grows together. Hope and optimism are prevalent subjects of the narrative, but it does not shy away from the harsh reality of tragic outcomes.
