Tucson Home Solar Power Providers & Sales Reps, 2023 Newsletter Launched

Tucson Solar Insider is an online publication that looks at the rapidly evolving field of solar energy from a local perspective, helping homeowners find reputable businesses in their area amongst the rising tide of solar scammers.

Details on the newsletter can be found at https://tucsonsolarinsider.com/

As a former Electrical Officer with a background in sales, Curtis was quick to notice the deceptions of solar reps flooding his inbox and knocking at the door of his new home in Tucson, not far from the home he had grown up in. Though it was obvious to him, he and his wife couldn’t shake the feeling that these sales tricks could be cheating homeowners all over Arizona and giving solar a bad name.

According to the US Energy Information Administration, residential solar power installations increased by 34% from 2020 to 2021, a trend of record-breaking growth that has not seemed to slow. Like any rapidly growing market, this has created space for disreputable businesses to capitalize on people’s unfamiliarity with the new technologies.

In an effort to combat these exploitative sales tactics, Tucson Solar Insider was created to educate homeowners on the state of the solar industry and its technologies. The newsletter seeks not only to point out the red flags that mark a “solar shark,” but also to guide people towards the best energy options for their situation.

The new website includes both articles and short informational videos, as well as an archive of the email newsletter, to which anyone with an interest in solar can subscribe to stay informed on the latest from the Tucson solar scene. Subscribers are also welcome to reply to the newsletter with their thoughts and questions so that Curtis can answer them directly.

Passionate about the economic and environmental benefits of solar power, Curtis has expressed his hope that this newsletter will help other homeowners take advantage of Arizona’s almost year-round sunshine without being taken advantage of themselves.

Curtis shared his belief that local homeowners can have the best of both worlds, saying that “Tucson will be better if more of us go solar- but not if we let the sharks out of their cages and into our homes.”
