Alberta Medical Aesthetic Education: Certification For Single Moms Announced

The new training programs launched by the Dermysk Medical Aesthetics Academy can be completed from anywhere in Canada by students working at their own pace, though they will be required to attend in-person training at one of the Dermysk clinics located around the country.

More information about the new hybrid learning model and the full list of courses can be found at https://dermysk.com/pages/academy

Using the new hybrid learning system, students can train for their basic medical aesthetician certification while doing most of the work from home. While a certain amount of hands-on training is required, the Dermysk Academy’s new system allows a wider range of students to enroll, regardless of other responsibilities such as children, work, or other schooling.

Students can enroll in the Basic medical aesthetician course with only a high school diploma or any form of relevant work experience. The Basic course provides certification in up to a dozen common medical aesthetic procedures and acts as a prerequisite for the Advanced class.

After completing the online training modules, students will be asked to attend a one-week hands-on training program at their local Dermysk Academy. During this time, students will get practical experience working with actual clients, to ensure that they are knowledgeable, comfortable, and experienced with each of the procedures they will be certified for.

The Dermysk Academy uses a unique approach that allows its students to get real-world experience working with clients at the Dermysk Medical Aesthetics Clinic. While these training opportunities involve actual medical aesthetic procedures on real people, they are always performed under trained supervision, to ensure the safety of both the student and the client.

In the Basic course, students will receive an overview of the industry, learn about the regulatory and legal considerations, acquire basic business strategies, and learn several popular procedures. These may include laser hair removal, photo rejuvenation, pigmentation, micro-needling, fractional ablation, and acne treatments.

One satisfied student said, “Recent graduate in Medical Aesthetics, and can say with confidence that this is a fine school conducted by amazing people… The actual educational theory and practicum are well-made and executed. Great hands-on experience.”
