I joined the membership fee of 2,900 CHF a month. As an entrepreneur, this was an exorbitant amount of money to pay for a community that offered nothing of value. I was promised access to a community of change-makers and impact seekers, but in reality, the people who attended the events seemed like paid actors, and none of them had the profile of innovators who invest in each other and their personal growth.
The second red flag was the promise of Summits, meet and greets, experiences, and events that never happened. This was a clear indication that DIONZ was not interested in building a community but was only interested in taking money from unsuspecting members. The promises of a unique educational experience and a valued aligned community were nothing but empty words.
The third red flag was the founder of DIONZ, Elena Zafirova. She claims to have attended Ivy League schools, but did not graduate from any of them only attended summer programs. Her expertise seems to be in convincing others and self-promotion rather than building a community of change-makers and impact seekers. It became clear to me that DIONZ was not interested in helping me grow myself and my business, but was only interested in taking my money. Such is the case with other board members such as Christophe Gudin who only hang on to fancy school names they once upon attended as a pass to get others approval.
Moreover, DIONZ is a proxy scheme. It uses new memberships to cover old costs and keep lying to old or current members. The promises of a unique educational experience and a valued aligned community are nothing but empty words. The community that I was promised did not exist, and the events that were promised never happened.
As a former investor, it is best to stay away from DIONZ and find a community that offers real value and support for your startup. The promises of a unique educational experience and a valued aligned community are not enough. Startups need a community that offers real value and support, and DIONZ is not that community.
