Martinsburg, West Virginia Jun 23, 2023 (Issuewire.com) – The Hampshire County Farm Crawl is back and better than ever! On July 15th and 16th, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., curious minds are invited to embark on a unique adventure through the vibrant farming scene of Hampshire County, West Virginia. This two-day event offers visitors a chance to explore the rich history of farming in the area and connect with local farmers, while supporting sustainable practices and contributing to the local economy.

Imagine a day filled with farm tours, amazing products, and encounters with farm animals. The Farm Crawl provides a firsthand experience of the hard work and dedication that goes into running a farm. With approximately 30 participating stops, visitors will have the opportunity to purchase and enjoy a wide variety of locally produced goods. From farm-fresh corn and apple butter to grass-fed beef, alpaca products, moonshine, mushrooms, sweets from the local farmer/chocolatier, and even handmade pottery, there is something for everyone’s agricultural taste.

Participants can learn about animal husbandry, gardening, homesteading, permaculture, and the art of growing herbs for natural home remedies. The Farm Crawl offers a unique chance to step back in time and visit a one-room schoolhouse at one stop, while watching a handmade broom demonstration at another, providing insight into the rich history of the region.

The Farm Crawl offers a chance to view the diverse range of farming practices in Hampshire County. Visitors will encounter an array of farm animals, including horses, cows, chickens, pigs, goats, and alpacas, providing an up-close and personal experience with rural life. However, for the safety and comfort of all animals on the farm, we kindly request that visitors’ furry friends stay home this time.

Inspired by the tremendous success of last year’s inaugural event, the Hampshire County Farm Crawl has expanded to include even more farms throughout the county. This self-guided journey invites visitors to witness the remarkable work being done on local farms. Beyond supporting farms, we encourage attendees to also explore the fantastic shops, restaurants, take a ride on the Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad and find a variety places to ‘rest your head’ in Hampshire County.

“We are thrilled to bring back the Hampshire County Farm Crawl,” said event organizer Tina Ladd. “This event allows us to showcase the importance of agriculture in our community and provides visitors with an authentic rural experience. We hope to inspire a greater appreciation for local farmers and encourage people to make a conscious choice to purchase their food from local farmers.”
