Midland, Texas May 17, 2023 (Issuewire.com) – The Petroleum Museum is excited to announce that it will be hosting Space Nation Day on Sunday, May 21st, starting at 2 PM. The event will feature a panel of leaders in space, as well as exciting space activities for kids and a space mission challenge for adults and students.
Space Nation is one of the newest additions to the growing West Texas space ecosystem. It is a space exploration training company that offers otherworldly missions for future astronauts, teams, leaders, and adventure travelers to share the world-changing benefits of space with everyone.
Admission to the event is free, and attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the exciting new era of space exploration and innovation. Midland and West Texas are at the forefront of training settlers to go to space, and visitors can discover why. They can also learn how the oil and gas industries built the modern world and how they will help build our future on the Moon, Mars, and beyond.
Attendees can participate in a space mission challenge with a grand prize of a free ticket to Space Nation’s upcoming Moon Pioneers Mission scheduled for Fall 2023 (prize worth $4,950). In addition, visitors can take selfies with Space Nation astronauts wearing their space suits and enjoy delicious finger foods.
Midland is at the heart of the global human spaceflight ecosystem. Midland’s Spaceport acts as a hub for nine surrounding spaceports, with the likes of Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic launch sites to the West and NASA and SpaceX to the Southeast. This, combined with the rich pioneering, aerospace, and wildcatter history of Midland and West Texas, made Space Nation choose it as its future base of global operations and as the location for the upcoming Moon Pioneers Mission.
“We are thrilled to host Space Nation Day at the Petroleum Museum,” said Kathy Shannon, Executive Director of the Petroleum Museum. “This is a fantastic opportunity for visitors to learn about the exciting new era of space exploration and innovation and to discover why Midland and West Texas are at the forefront of training settlers to go to space. We look forward to welcoming visitors and sharing our passion for space and science.”
The event promises to be a great way to experience a taste of outer space and a sense of adventure. The Petroleum Museum invites everyone to come and join the celebration of Space Nation Day.
